Q I hold the nationality of a target country but am studying in other country. Can I apply?
Yes, as long as you hold the nationality of a target country and are not residing in Japan, you are eligible to apply.

Applicants with majors in IT, AI , or Engineering related majors are eligible to apply.
Q Is Japanese language proficiency required to apply for interships ?
No, internships are conducted in English.
Q What level of English proficiency is required?
You can apply for internships if you can communicate in English. Please refer to the application guidelines for details.
Q Can I apply for internships, even if I have already graduated?
Yes, you can apply if you graduated within last 3 years.
Q Is there an age limit for internship applications?
No, there is no age limit for this program, provided applicants are either currently enrolled in a university or have graduated within the past three years.
Q I am a foreign student attending a university in Japan, can I apply?
No, foreign students residing in Japan are not eligible for this internship.
Q What documents are required for internship application?
No specific documents are required for the initial application. However, you may be asked to submit supporting documents during the selection process.
Q Are there any information sessions about the internship program?
There is no scheduled information sessions. However, you may contact the secretariat by email or phone.
Q I would like to know more about the coding test.
This test is intended exclusively for AI and IT students and is expected to take approximately two hours. Please note that the content of the test will not be disclosed.
Q Can I take the coding test more than once?
No, each candidate is allowed to take the test only once.
Q How long is the internship period?
The internship can last from 2 to 8 weeks for in-person internship, and 2 to 4 weeks for online internship.
Q What type of companies will provide internship opportunities?
Large corporates and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across various industries in Japan, as well as their subsidiaries in your home country, provide internship opportunities.
Q Can I access the company information before applying for an internship?
Yes, company introductions and job description will be available on the internship matching platform Talendy.
Q Where will the internship take place?
Internship will take place in Japan or online, depending on the host company. Please see the application guidelines for details.
Q What are my responsibilities during the internship period?
Your responsibilities will be determined in consultation with the host company.
Q Is it possible to secure a job offer following the internship?
While some interns may receive job offers from their host companies through mutual agreement, this program is primarily designed to provide internship experience, so employment is not guaranteed.
Q Who should I contact if I face any issues during the internship period?

Q Can I cancel my participation after being selected for an internship?
Once an internship offer is accepted, cancellation is not permitted. Any cancellation after acceptance may result in penalties.
Q Will there be any intership allowance or payment from the company?
No, internships are unpaid. However, a daily allowance of ¥1,000 to ¥2,000 is provided by METI, depending on the internship type and location.
Q What costs are covered during the internship, such as travel and accommodation?
All basic costs, including round-trip airfare, accommodation, and travel insurance, are covered. Interns also receive a daily allowance of ¥1,000 to ¥2,000, depending on the internship type and location.
Q Do I need to arrange my flight tickets and accommodation?
No, all arrangements will be handled by the secretariat.
Q Do I need to apply for a visa for Japan if my internship is confirmed in Japan?
Yes, you need to apply for the visa yourself. The secretariat team will provide you with the necessary documents required to apply for visa.
Q Do I need to arrange medical insurance by myself?
No, it will be covered by the travel insurance provided by the program.
Q What kind of living support will be available during my stay in Japan?
